I hope it's not as serious as it sounds

monkeyfacegrace i gotta say in the midst of all this heart sickening tragedy your words made me grin Big Time for being so honest

scottishmummy · 10/06/2009 19:46

monkey what has mental health Assessment have to do with this?

suggestion is she will proceed down criminal justice route.

not everyone who perpetrates a crime is mentally ill

Mintyy · 10/06/2009 19:48

Yes, SM, and I am interested in why this level of disclosure has come from the police on this occasion.

I only hope that the high level of disclosure does not mean some clever lawyer will be able to plea that a fair trial is impossible and therefore push for the case to be dropped? The anonymity is there for a reason, usually. That's why I am nervous.

foxinsocks · 10/06/2009 19:50

well I think the excess disclosure from the police must be to try and get people to come forward - maybe she has used aliases or whatever, who knows. I guess they are desperate to get as much info as they can. I don't know tbh.

monkeyfacegrace · 10/06/2009 19:50

Soz didnt mean anything technical, I just meant we pay our tax to keep these people in cushy cells with all the sodding human rights bollocks, (was just using the mental thing as a bad example of costs!) when anyone who hurts a kid should either be painfully castrated to remove all sexual feelings, or shot. Not given bright new passports and identities etc. Bloody human rights tut tut.

tryingherbest · 10/06/2009 19:52

MI

The charges include sexual assault with penetration. Doesn't mean that she automatically got gratification out of it -it could be that someone was paying someone else to take pictures and upload them for other people's gratification.

However, if found guilty at trial, regardless of motive - it's paedophilia.

And she has a family of her own - that's their lives destroyed. They'll be vilified (and yup, can't spell tonight).

Awful truly awful.

monkeyfacegrace · 10/06/2009 19:57

Lets penetrate her with a table leg then sell it. Same shit as you say.

littlelamb · 10/06/2009 19:58
Hmm
myredcardigan · 10/06/2009 19:59

Oh Monkey! What does that make us if we start shooting people?
Have you read Animal Farm?

scottishmummy · 10/06/2009 20:02

the measure of a liberal society is how it treats dysfunction and criminality

and thankfully that includes abiding by human rights

i understnad the instinctive reaction of wanting to beat the crap out of such people.

but hang em flog em isnt way to go

monkeyfacegrace · 10/06/2009 20:04

Sorry , you have no idea of the sort of evil things going through my head. I just cant see these people, as, well, people. They are monsters hurting our most vunerable beautiful people, and they must be disposed of as I really really cant believe that things with this mentality can be rehibilitated. Just a personal opinion that will prob be proved wrong with research, but I cant deal with the pain.

twinmam · 10/06/2009 20:04

Tryingherbest - why does it matter whether she got gratification from it or not? If she is guilty as charged she raped children. IMO (and in the law) that makes her a paedophile regardless of whether she enjoyed it

Greensleeves · 10/06/2009 20:05

you can't just dispose of people fgs

scottishmummy · 10/06/2009 20:06

it is understandable and cathartic to be angry and seek revenge

trick is allowing those base instincts to abate and then take action

foxinsocks · 10/06/2009 20:08

ah don't leave Greeny. Are many speaking sense.

Yup, human rights and the right to a fair trial. Is what makes us what we are .

monkeyfacegrace · 10/06/2009 20:09

Greensleeves, thats why Im not in a position of law, as Im afraid thats my feelings. Founded on nothing but raw mothering instinct. Hopefully the justice system will sort it, but I feel awful for her kids too.

myredcardigan · 10/06/2009 20:09

Blimey,SM! I aint half agreeing with you tonight. Never to be seen again,no doubt!

Greensleeves · 10/06/2009 20:10

I don't think it's mothering instinct. I have strong maternal impulses but I've never fantasised about ramming a table leg up anyone

I am really am going now, as the thread has gone the way they usually do.

poshwellies · 10/06/2009 20:12

I hope all the parents and of course, the children involved within this case are given all the professional help that SS and the police can offer and as soon as possible.

If my child was abused, I would be channelling my anger into helping them maintain a happy and carefree childhood and a positive and loving home.

And I speak as someone who was abused from a young age.

All this 'string 'em up' bollocks helps NO-ONE.

foxinsocks · 10/06/2009 20:16

it's one person, not the whole thread greeny.

anyway, don't normally post on these but the whole story just drew me in (I suppose my kids having been to a nursery and this being a woman, I know no different to men in that sense, but just more unusual I think)

smallorange · 10/06/2009 20:18

it's quite normal for police to disclose name etc once someone has been charged. it is public record.

foxinsocks · 10/06/2009 20:18

sorry, that sounded aggressive. Meant of course, do what you like re the thread Greeny, but actually the discussion on here hasn't been that bad tbh.

monkeyfacegrace · 10/06/2009 20:20

Just wanted to say sorry if I caused offense to anyone. I really am not a nasty woman, just passionate and angry.
Sorry again x

smallorange · 10/06/2009 20:20

media has to be careful with background info though so as not to prejudice trial.

Mintyy · 10/06/2009 20:23

Greeny - don't leave the thread because of one "String em up" poster. They will always be with us, ranting and blethering, and cannot be argued with.

Although, having expressed my disgust and horror and huge feelings of sympathy with the families concerned, I'm not sure there's much else for me to say either .
