another news site says that officials have lost hope now- very sad, thankfully it is very rare.

No consolation if your relative/friend is on the plane but I do know what you mean.

Horrible for those involved on and off the flight, one of my worst fears!

I hope that by some strange twist of fate everything is well but I do doubt that is going to happen now .

I find this really upsetting. I'm not sure why - I think it's the uncertainty of it. With a plane crash in the mountains or whatever it's horrible and frightening but in this instance the silence and not knowing is too disturbing for words.

Been all over the news here in Brazil since the morning. It doesn't sound at all hopeful, plus there's a chance they may never find the plane, it's a huge area.

It has been confirmed that the debris found was from the flight.

Really is a tragic story, famillies must be distraught but maybe it will go to some consolation now they know something of what happened but I doubt the bodies will ever be recovered.

This just makes me so sad. I really feel awful for the people who were on that plane and their families and relatives. They need to make a huge effort to find the plane so people can get some closure.
