Apparently Labour party activists were cheering Tony Blair on with 'Four more years'.

has that suddenly changed? Why can't it be 5 years? Anyone know?

I noticed John Prescott said "4 - or 5" in his speech too.

It is a maximum of 5 - the Tories had their elections after 4 years in 83 and 87 when they were doing well and wanted to pick their time but went to 5 in both 92 (when they expected to lose but didn't) and 97 (ditto and did) - leaving it till the last possible date means something might kick off and ruin decent chances before you have time to do anything about it.
