Not staged, i've done the same thing myself on several occasions. Not for fun you understand, worked for a well known animal charity. Not the catching though, just the escorting. Babies have ruined me though, even I just had a tear at it!!

No, I saw a David Attenborough programme where ducks nested on a similar ledge, but in a forest, and to get to the water they jumped out but landed on the soft forest floor. It's natural behaviour but just not very well adapted to the city.

I cried when they all jumped in the pond at the end
