I know there is the one thread thing but this is'nt to debate it's just to show this.

I did look for the thread but could'nt find it anywhere there are sooo many.

Anyway as tomorrow is the 2nd anniversary of her disappearance and just a few days before her 6th birthday, they ahve released a new photo of what she may look like now.

It looks nothing like the trademark photo we have came to know so well so I imagine it would be hard (if she actually does look like this) to spot her so please take a good look you never know what could happen!

Madeleine McCann aged 6

Sorry for thesun lionk by the way LOL I just knew it was in there.

its a bit frightening to realise how quickly time has gone by and how much she may have changed isn't it.

It is hard to believe it has been 2 years and the twins are older now than when they last saw Madeleine. They will be starting school this September. Another milestone that they have to get through without Madeleine.

It is soo scary how different she actually looks in that photo, must be very upsetting for her family to see their little grown up and without them.

Can't believe it has been 2 years actually, seems like a few days ago that I woke up to see it on SKY news and they were trailing the streets because they assumed she just wandered out of the aprtment through the night!

So much has happened since then in this case but we are still no closer to findng out what happened to her.

Although it is agains my better judgement I really do hope she is out there safe where ever she is.

I saw this this morning and it made me feel dreadfully sad.DD1 is the same age and used to go to mums and tots with Madeleine, when the twins were just babies and dd2 was a baby.DD1 was asking about her yesterday and I had to tell her that she hasn't been found yet.

expatinscotland · 02/05/2009 22:21

she is/was about a month older than my eldest.

the Oprah Winfrey show they were on will be aired on Monday and there's a Channel 4 documentary next week.

poor bairn.

mamadiva · 02/05/2009 22:24

George I can't imagine having to explain that and I guess whilst most of us know Madeleine as a picture and a 'poor child' which is only natural, there are others around who know her as a little girl who liked playing with dolls, the park or whatever.

Things like that must make it seem so much worse!

mamadiva,it hasn't been as bad for us as it has been for my friends. They were friends of Gerry & Kate too and their ds was Maddie's best friend,as well as one of dd1's friends. He should have been going to her 5th birthday just after they returned home.He said he was keeping her present until she came home too..

Because so many children locally knew her, there was no way to keep the news from them. One day my cousin and I were sitting in the kitchen after school, listening to our 4 year old dd's playing outside. We could hear them shouting 'Madeleine! Madeleine!'We asked what they were doing and they said that they were playing 'lost madeleine'and that she was lost and they had to find her.My cousin and I just looked at each other and asked where they'd got the game from.Apparently the kids at school were all playing it.It made us both feel awful, but I suppose that is how kids deal with stuff.
