noddyholder · 21/04/2005 13:49

I saw this on sky news absolutely horrific she is so ill they have no real description of him What is wrong with people

psychomum5 · 21/04/2005 13:50

That is horrifying....and what on earth will be the repucusions for the poor little boy, let alone the mummy.

JanH · 21/04/2005 13:50

It must have been someone she knew, surely? Not a random attack?

donnie · 21/04/2005 13:59

reminds me of the rachel nickell murder....that poor boy witnessed the entire thing.

NomDePlume · 21/04/2005 14:01

awful

WideWebWitch · 21/04/2005 14:04

How awful. Isn't it quite a quiet leafy area too? Poor woman and child.

alexw · 21/04/2005 15:03

Not that far from wimbledon either - could be linked to Nickell?? Sure they didn't get anyone in the end for that. Poor woman and for her little one to witness it too...

wilbur · 21/04/2005 15:06

Horrifying. That's quite close to where I grew up, it's a really quiet area. Hope they catch someone.

Gobbledigook · 21/04/2005 15:11

I wondered that JanH - often is in cases like this isn't it, but obviously not always.

So awful.

Dophus · 21/04/2005 18:09

Things like this scare me. I spend a lot of time walking with my 12 week son in the quiet leafy streets of Surry. I even walk in the woods on my own and reassure myself that things like this never happen.

I hate to live fearing the world around me but every time these random attacks occur I think it must be time to stop walking on my own.

Poor woman and poor family.

pixiefish · 21/04/2005 20:29

so very very and scary. As dophus says I often go for a walk on my own on woodland paths- could pass loads of people , could pass no one. Scary

Frizbe · 21/04/2005 22:37

Horrific, I've just caught the news, my heart goes out to her and her family I hope they catch the individual involved soon. It just reminds us all to be as aware as possible at all times.........

paolosgirl · 21/04/2005 22:45

Awful

DillyDally · 22/04/2005 10:51

I think we should all get those rape alarms and have a mobile with us at all times and avoid secluded paths unless absolutely necessary

Geeeez

JanH · 22/04/2005 10:54

latest from BBC .

It doesn't sound very promising and that poor little boy - one of the neighbours who helped her said he looked numb.

agree cod, time for self defence lessons for us all

mumtochloe · 22/04/2005 11:03

So shocking. I also grew up not far from there and it really makes you think that it could happen to any one of us. What kind of sicko does this - never mind in front of a 20 month old baby.

Hope she fully recovers though it is looking unlikely at present

Toothache · 22/04/2005 11:06

I often walk through parks and down lanes with my 14 wk old, it does sometimes cross my mind if I am safe. I carry a personal alarm which I got free from work and sometimes I carry a can of body spray up my sleeve!!But I never let this deter me from living my life. I do feel very for the little one and the family.
