C. Lepew.x

Treasure it.

It'll be worth a fortune one day.

Janos · 30/01/2009 20:18

I agree Iorekb

georgimama · 30/01/2009 20:47

I thought the comments were hilarious. They'd fit right in, tbh.

CoteDAzur · 30/01/2009 20:57

I find myself agreeing with the comments in general. Sorry.

policywonk · 30/01/2009 21:09

PMSL at that GiveUsPeace idiot taking the feline toothbrushing extremely seriously.

Guardian forums are full of complete idiots; I've noticed this before (eg when Aitch had a go at Jon Ronson). Lots of angry men without enough to occupy themselves.

georgimama · 30/01/2009 21:11

Unlike us, who have such full lives.

Bumperslucious · 30/01/2009 21:16

What a bunch of smug wankers they are. Sounds like they all subscribe to the GF school of parenting. I'd rather have fiesty kids than ones who are are so docile because they are scared of me.

Lemontart · 30/01/2009 21:17

I thought Justine came across as witty, funny, honest and down to earth. Agree that many of the comments just could not see the article for what it was.
Have no fear Justine, we can see you for what you are and love you for it too

Hilarious about the feline toothbrushing outrage comment - fab!

Janos · 30/01/2009 21:23

You know georgimama and cotedazur are right. There are plenty of tedious/smug/self righteous/humourless (select favourite adjective) posters here too of course

policywonk · 30/01/2009 21:32

I don't think (as IB said below) that MN posters are so routinely aggressive. I think the blogosphere in general suffers from an excess of unpleasantness, whereas the 'supportive' ethos of MN (while not always adhered to by any means) means that the tone of this site is a lot more pleasant than the average forum.

Janos · 30/01/2009 21:36

Oh yes policywonk Mumsnet is absolutely lovely compared to the Guardian talk boards.

georgimama · 30/01/2009 21:40

We're a lot nicer (on the whole). But we are also just typing shit onto a website because we're bored.

Horton · 30/01/2009 21:41

Do you think so, Janos? I think you got some good support there in times past.

As a Guardian regular, I must point out that the Guardian forums are a totally different beast from the comments under articles.

RiaParkinson · 30/01/2009 21:41

Mumsnet is less aggressive of late.......

MauriceDancer · 30/01/2009 21:45

arf at the guardian men. i did NOT have a pop at Jon Ronson (other than to state the obvious that he's creepy). he popped at me, by email.

RipVanTwinklemegan · 30/01/2009 21:46

I have never so many recipients of sense-of-humour-ectomies in the one place. How sad.

RiaParkinson · 30/01/2009 21:46

there are some pleasant comments!

Horton · 30/01/2009 21:48

Actually, the real Guardian forums are pretty much miniMumsnet in some ways:

this thread in particular

But those comments under articles are totally full of loons.

MauriceDancer · 30/01/2009 22:03

Maurice is Aitch?! There seem to be a lot of new name changes. LeninGrad, who are oyu? And there are others too. Combined with the new layout it is all too much.
