It would be fair enough, but what about those mothers who refuse to allow contact because it interferes with thier social lives? He pays his CSA, and now we have to pay for court to see the LO, and even if the courts decide LO should be able to see him, the ex dcides she can't be bothered we have to pay to go back to court, how is this fair? All my OH wants is a relationship with his LO, the mother has decided that all she wants is money.

There are fundamental flaws in the calculation too, if my OH had the LO 50% or more of the time he would still have to pay for the time she wasn't with him, how does that work? Surely if he has her 50% of the time he is contributing 50% towards her costs?

What happens if the absent parent has to drive to collect the child for contact and drive to take the child back? assuming the driving license is revoked. No contact?

As for removing a passport, I can't see that making a diffrence if they don't have one.

I do know that if my driving license were to be removed, I would have an application in court asking for residency. Ex can drive. I can't so she can drive to have contact and I will gladly to look after my son. I would see little other option but to apply any dirty tactic possible to win the residency application and I would gladly help anyone needing my help if that person isn't involved in DV, drugs or that sort of thing.

I think removing their passport is (at least in theory) a great idea. Why should someone who owes money for the upkeep of their own child and has chosen not to pay it, swan off abroard on holiday?
Surely if you cannot afford to pay maintenance then you cannot afford a holiday? Oh and if you are working abroard then you are on a very high wage.

I know that people have experiences of the csa being unfair but if you have a child then you should pay for their upkeep.
