I find this so interesting. news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7802608.stm.

Did anyone see this couple on Oprah? Some holocaust historians are saying something like this does nothing for the memory of the holocaust and simply plays into the hands of holocaust deniers - and that the holocaust does not need "heart warming" stories (especially not fake ones) but must be remembered for the brutality and the lack of human heart.

Has happened before. Isn't surviving the holocaust interesting enough without the author feeling he has to embroider the story?

Such a shame as I did see them on Oprah and thought it an amazing story, turns out just too amazing to have actually happened.

There is a book I read, fiction, can't remember the name of it frustratingly, and it is of a similar idea. The main character throws food over to concentration camp victims hoping some of it reaches her Jewish lover. It was a good book as well.
