The Government thought that they knew better than the experts. The experts disagreed big time and kicked up a stink. Well done them.
Now when will Health and Education professionals grow some balls and do the same? They love to moan about the dreadful things that the Government is doing to their area of expertise but the truth is that the professionals allow them to get away with it, they just moan and then do it (and then moan some more). When was the last time they said, "No, in my professional judgment you are wrong and I refuse to implement your latest harebrained scheme."
