Has anyone seen anything else about him being autistic?

This sort of thing is one of our biggest fears (running off and into the path of something).

Goodness this story was so sad

Although I have to say I still don't understand how they ended up in front of a train, all the train crossings I have seen have a gate that comes down when a train is coming and it's a fair bit before it reaches the crossing, sorry for being ignorant I just don't get it.

Info here - it says the gates didn't lock www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/homenews/Level-crossing-deaths-Locals-safety-fears/article-496917-detail/ article.html

it says elsewhere that an 18 year old got their foot trapped and was hit by a train there breaking their back last year. So maybe it was nothing to do with the autism. I just read it and thought oh god he ran off. But perhaps he didn't.

Poor family, what an awful loss

I live in Nottingham, there are a few of these crossings which do not close at all which is why there had been safety concerns. A few accidents have happened.
hadn't heard he was autistic though. I think the story is very sad
