Makes me feel 2shoes-especially the bit about if they were class a drug users they'd be prioritized.I really hope they can be rehomed asap and become a family again.

2shoes · 18/11/2008 22:06

well I will buy a big issue of her when I go up town. poor woman.

bumping this as I think it is so sad

Awful, and ending up homeless for fleeing a violent relationship, it beggars belief.

2 shoes - yes unbelievable (ie I dont belive this.)
I would bet a substantial amount of money that there is more to this story than printed in the article you linked to. For example - why, when she was rehoused in Portsmouth by the local authority after fleeing violence, did she end up living in squats? Why was her son taken into care?

Oh, and btw, you do not get priority status for being a Class A drug user.

Portofino · 19/11/2008 23:01

unavailable - after reading the story - I'm kind of with you on this.....There is definitely more to this.

2shoes · 19/11/2008 23:02

well I think you would loose.
follow up in the paper today. the way they have to live beggars belief.
they have won a bid on a HA place and are waiting to hear when they will move in. soon I hope. brighton is not a warm place in the winter.

follow up story

Thanks - I didnt want to be the only heartless cynic!

I'm not unsympathetic towards anyone who ends up homeless and on the street, for whatever reason, but the detail of the story just doesnt ring true.

2shoes · 19/11/2008 23:05

having read the comments on the article
I might well be wrong

Sorry , x posts. My last post was to Portofino.
2 shoes - I'm not sure why you think the follow up disproves my suspicions. I didnt think that they were not homeless, just questioned the details of how it had come about.

2shoes · 20/11/2008 08:01

no
that is what I meant. the comments have made me wonder how true it all is.

phraedd · 20/11/2008 14:22

why do they not ask their daughter if they can stay with her in her home?

Something isn't right with that story

2shoes · 20/11/2008 14:29

well I smiled at her today

Have they got NO relatives between them at all? There must be more to this story.
Could they not apply to a "live-in" job? There must be some around.
