a big bump and surely someone might have seen her?

BennyAndJoon · 17/11/2008 21:01

another bump

isthisillegal · 17/11/2008 23:33

I'm guessing she's on the run because she wants to keep her children and social services are threatening to take them away. Impossible to tell from that article what the real story is but it all seems very odd. Just hope they're all safe and happy and together whereever they are

mabanana · 18/11/2008 08:03

I note that she is thought to have a 'personality disorder' whatever that might be. There seems to be no suggestion that she has ever hurt any of the girls though. I reserve judgement, Especially as if she is caught, a blanket of silence will fall over this case due to the secret courts and we will certainly not hear the voices of the daughters. I am sceptical about taking children away on the grounds of a 'personality disorder' in the mother, as opposed to abuse or neglect of the children.

blog comment on a strange story

RubberDuck · 18/11/2008 08:25

Interesting blog comment.

I still don't understand why the children would be taken into care and not given to the husband/parents though. And as the blog poster commented, while it does appear that she is ill and needs urgent help, how does taking away her children (when they appear to be in no danger other than being taken out of education to go on the run) do anything towards fixing her mental state?

Very very odd. I hope she's okay and manages to get the help she needs without being separated from the kids - by having that care order there they've put her in an impossible position, who would ask for help from the authorities if the authorities respond by taking your kids away?!

llareggub · 18/11/2008 08:26

bizarre story.

PuzzleRocks · 18/11/2008 08:26

God how sad, I hope for a happy outcome.

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 08:44

Very odd story.

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 09:11

the interviews are facinating.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/11/2008 09:22

I don't know anything about this case but many 'personality disorders' are quite dubious diagnostically. I seem to remember reading a piece about how the same symptoms in men and women are more likely to get diagnosed as PTSD as men and a personality disorder in women. From what happened with the Fran Lyon case I get the impression that if you're diagnosed with certain personality disorders you're pretty screwed.

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 09:53

hear the interview

here

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/11/2008 09:57

Can't listen as at work, but

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 09:59

Well it's worth a listen, if for the very interesting tale.

If it is her indeed.

I'm not sure if that link will be up later and several I have already visited (links) no longer work.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/11/2008 10:59

So what do you think Megg (having heard the interview)? Mossad or delusions?

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 12:23

I had to listen in between snippets as both my children are vomitting and ill today.

The parts I have heard, well she doesn't sound delusional to me.

nametaken · 18/11/2008 14:55

Correct me if I'm wrong but I'm sure this woman has been on mumsnet earlier this year asking for help and advice. Does anyone remember?

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 15:03

No. Are you thinking of a lady called Fran?

Yeni · 18/11/2008 15:06

I don't remember NT but I read a post referring to that. I did a search at the time but I couldn't come up with anything.

ilovemydog · 18/11/2008 15:14

How strange!

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 15:19

hmmmmm. Really?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 18/11/2008 15:20

I know there were threads connected with this story but I didn't read them, don't know if she was actually on here or not.

Megglevache · 18/11/2008 15:25

Well I never.

tiredemma · 18/11/2008 15:30

I recall threads also, I have been trying to find them just but cant recall any key words etc.

I remember the fran one also.
