About blardy time too saltire

It's really annoying when I can't park in one when I take dm shopping.

Does anyone know if this law will cover supermarket car parks? Can't help thinking it won't, as they're on private land.

SoupDragon · 13/11/2008 07:54

I had no idea they weren't legally enforceable!

saltire · 13/11/2008 08:06

I only knew they weren't legally enforceable by reading it on here.
I don't know if it will apply to supermarkets though, they seem to have different rules, and aren't owned by councils.

I spoke to a local counciller last night and it is a real bug bear of his. He told me that public car parks are not enforcable and private car parks are.

I have a 2 "friends" who reguarly use the disabled sports at our toddler group despite the centre being used by lots of disabled grous at the same time.

It really pisses me off. I have parked opposite the centre and walked over the road rather than use a disabled spot (obv imo) and they always ask why?? I did say that it's not on etc etc but they don't care.

I hate to bring up the dreaded P&T spaces, but there are notices all over all the supermarkets in our area saying that incorrect use of the spaces would incur a fine. In fact, a couple of times when I have parked in them and taken the car seat in to the shop on the buggy, there has been a man waiting for me ready to issue some sort of notice but he obviously backed off when he saw DD.

The point being that if this is the case for P&T spaces, I can't believe that it isn't the same or more so for disabled bays. I've never parked in one so haven't noticed if there are any signs up but I'd be amazed if there weren't and something definitely needs to be done.
