I've got a puppy here he can have. It's 9 months old and eats sock,shoes,skirtingboards,door frames, paper,plastic bottles,broom handles, Dr Who toys, Scooby doo toys, cuddly toys, books, cd covers, (can you see a pattern emerging here). It also scrapes paint off the walss and digs holes in the plaster.

it is also however the most lovable and well behaved-when he is out for a walk- puppy.

Ooh - haven't told DS that bit - may give him ideas!

Could you imagine him going to Congress and sayiong "well it's like this - the puppy ate the constitution"

Can they go down there early and let the puppy poo in the Oval office while Bush is still there?

there's a tradition of white house dogs.
bush sr had a springer spaniel
clinton had a chocolate lab
bush jr had a scottish terrier and something else

Bush's SCottie was the only thing I liked about him.

we're currently running one kitchen cupboard and half a wall down, not mentioning the pile of assorted hairbrushes/ plastic bottles/ cd cases/ and eeek, books (including dd2's school reading book) that i found in a shredded heap on the dog bed this morning....
actually, he has got a pet passport - wonder if those nice obama girls would like a beautiful black lab?

I admit that despite supporting Obama I never got the whole, "WOW, OBAMA!" he's amazing and so different... thing
but watching that speech, well, WOW.

Anyone else notice how natural he is? Even the way he put his arms around Michelle and linked his hands together around her waist, such a lovely sight. You see politicians hugging & kissing family the whole time, rarely looks unstaged.

So, would the children have got the puppy if he had lost?!

My children will be badgering me even more for a puppy if they hear his speech. Of course, the garden at the White House is considerably larger than ours!

tell them they can have one when you are President.

DS2 asked if he could have a puppy when I'm president. I pointed out that I couldnt be president as I'm not American. He then amended it to Prime Minister. Which, to be fair, is probably equally likely as me becoming president of the US.
