Have we not had a discussion about this? I'm surprised.

Seedy, sordid, unfunny little men pad obscene amounts of money to be obscene.

What's your view?

The BBC provide programming for all, including........misognynists !

You don't have to listen to Radio 2 on a Saturday night , but other misogynists may wish to. That's up to them.

ScottishMummy · 29/10/2008 20:48

doh!thats the point pretty much no one had heard of her.her notoriety is this debacle

myredcardigan · 29/10/2008 20:49

What does her cleavage have to do with it? She probably feels stupid and let down so wants to embarass him as much as possible. If she can make a little money along the way, who cares?

ScottishMummy · 29/10/2008 20:51

this support the woman.gerls together ethos, dont get it.are you suggesting one should have gender preference?should i like jade goody because she is a burd, over looking her propensity to talk shit.because she is a burd

myredcardigan · 29/10/2008 20:52

OK, Givepeas... Change mysogynist to racist. How palatable does that sound now?

Lizzylou · 29/10/2008 20:55

Her cleavage has everything to with it, if she's posing in The Sun saying how disgusting it is that these awful men and how they upset her grandfather and that RB and JR deserve to get sacked, with legs and boobs on display.

It's just so hypocritical.
I'd have had much more sympathy with her if she had just took it on the chin, tbh.
No pun intended

LittleBellaLugosi · 29/10/2008 20:56

SM do you know what notoriety means?

fruitstick · 29/10/2008 20:56

and I think it's incredibly sad that we are supposed to defend the woman in his affair because we women are supposed to stick together!

And what side of the story is she going to set straight? That it wasn't over the back of the sofa?

Andrew Sachs has behaved with dignity throughout the whole thing and she should do the same or stop complaining. Her cleavage obviously has nothing to do with it, so she probably should keep the lingerie shoots to a minimum. Cardigan, you are clearly needed!

She has taken it on the chin. She's gone out and milked it. Good for her. (Although I think it might be a misguided short term response, rather than a long term career strategy, but who knows - Max Clifford is a much more experienced PR practitioner than I am. )

southeastalien · 29/10/2008 20:59

she'll be in ok in two weeks

skyatnight · 29/10/2008 20:59

ScottishMummy, Jade Goody is a completely different kettle of fish, not relevant. But you seem to want to comdemn Ms Bailey for potentially making money out of being humiliated on radio. Well RB made money out of humiliating her, and he started the whole thing, so why shouldn't she when she is the object of his 'humour'. ?

That's what I mean, these women only have two choices: play dead and be the 'victim' or use the publicity, make money and at least getting something out of your own humiliation. In this emancipated era, why wouldn't you at least try and do the second?

Your comments just smack of women against women misogyny.

GivePeasAChance · 29/10/2008 20:59

The basic problem for her now is that publicity-seekers cannot easily complain if their story backfires on them. By taking money they become 'fair game' in the eyes of the media.

She had a position of power before she sold out.

fruitstick · 29/10/2008 21:00

milked the humiliation and bullying of her grandfather for all it was worth.

good on her.

EBenes · 29/10/2008 21:01

Oh, but why good for her making such an overtly hypocritical statement about how upset her grandfather has been and then going on to increase exactly the kind of exposure she claims upsets him and may wreck their relationship? He clearly doesn't want to say anything else about it and wishes the paps would leave him alone. But she has hired a publicist whose certain way of working is to ensure the story won't die soon.

LittleBellaLugosi · 29/10/2008 21:01

I would have thought she'd have consulted her grandfather about this tbh. It's all been so public that I very much doubt she hasn't spoken to him about next steps.

morningpaper · 29/10/2008 21:01

but why good for her

Because apparently MONEY IS GOD

morningpaper · 29/10/2008 21:02

oh meant to add

fruitstick · 29/10/2008 21:02

I was being sarcastic

skyatnight · 29/10/2008 21:03

I think it is about being active rather than being passive. Women are taught not to be passive.

She is not further humiliating her grandfather. That's rubbish. The story has broken. It can't get any worse than that. They had to stick up for themselves.

Lizzylou · 29/10/2008 21:03

I just don't see why there is all the outrage.
If Georgina is fine after the event and making money etc, her Grandfather is OK then why the moral indignation? Why does anyone need to resign/get suspended?

GivePeasAChance · 29/10/2008 21:04

It has given her no power at all (only a bit of dirty cash as MP says) so it really does not smack of misogyny to women sky - it is quite the opposite.

I know, fruitstick, I was referring to the previous 'good for her'.

Georgina says she is not fine, she says she's still angry.

morningpaper · 29/10/2008 21:07

On the other hand selling her story to the papers lets her put her side of the story

That's rubbish of course. Max Clifford would have said to the papers: "What can we say/what pictures can we give for the maximum price" and delivered exactly that. The truth or her story doesn't come into it.
