My mate just told me about this forum, that she had seen discussed on a BBC site.

I am just going thru the 'facts'. Looks interesting haha

i love this one

'Q: "What's underneath the Earth?" aka "What's on the bottom?" aka "What's on the other side?"

A: This is unknown. Some believe it to be just rocks, others believe the Earth rests on the back of four elephants and a turtle.

I go for the turtle and elephants myself

UnquietDad · 18/10/2008 17:55

Oh bless

Love the concept of the 'Ice Wall' that keeps all the water from falling off the edge.

and the re-assurance that even with global warming we will be OK as the Ice Wall is really a mountain range.

feel sure that Indigo Children must be part of this!

But what happens if The Flat Earthers are right? How can I accept that I was duped by a conspiracy?

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 18/10/2008 18:26

Is this for real? Just read a few of those Q&A's, but really???

People actually belive this??

FAQ · 18/10/2008 18:33

and I always thought the Scientologists were a crazy lot

grouchyoscar · 18/10/2008 18:34

Had a Dad at school genuinely trying to convince me that

The Earth is only 4 million years old
Darwin is only a theory and is discredited.
The geological record is doubtful

I'm an Ecology graduate, he picked the wrong person to try and convince really. (or did he...maybe I'm just the person he needs to convince )

FAQ · 18/10/2008 18:44

haha have you see they've got an angry ranting topic for

"If you're planning on posting a message insulting us but don't want to bother with any thought or content, please do it in here."

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 18/10/2008 18:54

Perhaps MN should have an 'angry ranting' topic Should free up a bit of space on AIBU.

piratecat · 18/10/2008 18:59

cool the angry ranting area is bonkers too!

OP posts:
FAQ · 18/10/2008 19:13

actually I think you have to be on something (not sure alcohol would be strong enough) to post even on the "angry rant" forum and to make sense of it )

TheInvisibleManDidIt · 18/10/2008 19:24

Oh yes, an angry ranting topic would be brilliant on MN.

HRHSaintMamazon · 18/10/2008 19:27

i am PMSL at this site.

Q: "Why do the all the world Governments say the Earth is round?"

A: It's a conspiracy

Q: "What about NASA? Don't they have photos to prove that the Earth is round?"

A: NASA is part of the conspiracy too. The photos are faked.

Q: "Why has no-one taken a photo of the Earth that proves it is flat?"

A: The government prevents people from getting close enough to the Ice Wall to take a picture.

Q: "How did NASA create these images with the computer technology available at the time?"

A: Since NASA did not send rockets into space, they instead spent the money on developing advanced computers and imaging software instead

hecAteTheirBrains · 18/10/2008 19:28

That is so funny!

erm, it is a joke site, right?

I met new earthers (earth is 5000 years old) and flatt earthers (self explanatory) and new flat earthers (flat earth that is 5000 years old) plus people who believed the sun went round the earth cos the bible says so.
All in the US.
They seemed like nice inteligent people too. I said I didn't really care as I was never going to go in space, or indeed, fly again or go find out so round or flat didn't bother me or affect my life in any way whatsoever. That shut them up
