If he is telling the truth he was bloody stupid to have sex with a 16 year old in public when her parents are in the same hotel was he not?!!

Well, he's now been cleared of it - but I do agree with you. The evidence he gave of what happened that night may have helped clear him of rape - but he still came across as an unpleasant piece of work. 'I want to f**k you' seems to have been one of his more romantic lines. Sigh.

May not be a classy way to put it, but it is at least honest rather than wooing with lies

slayerette · 19/10/2008 13:19

Very true...

beanieb · 19/10/2008 13:22

I don't understand why he felt this statement was necessary for his defence 'I knew that she was younger than me the first night we spoke but she seemed mature for her age,'. Her maturity surely doesn't matter in a legal sense, she was old enough for it not to be statutory rape and this is not the point of the trial.

beanieb · 19/10/2008 13:25

And - what kind of evidence is this!

"Dr Crump explained to the court that after having sex for the first time, a woman?s hymen is ruptured and there are 'always remnants of the hymen around the vaginal opening' for a period of time afterwards.
She said she did not find any on examining the girl, and that the time period for her examination was 'adequate enough to establish the findings'.
But she added that science 'isn?t always 100pc accurate'."

UnquietDad · 19/10/2008 13:27

Seeing as he has been found not guilty, maybe discussing him as if he were still guilty is not a good idea? Just a thought.

beanieb · 19/10/2008 13:28

I'm not - you don't mean me do you?

mayorquimby · 19/10/2008 15:04

yes didn't want to post on this thread until the trial was over.
while his actions may not have been classy or painted him in anything resembling a good light.there is a million miles difference between being a bit of a twat and being a rapist.

beanieb · 19/10/2008 16:28

Thing is, nowhere in this thread can I see anyone calling him a rapist. Am I missing something.

imnotmamagbutshelovesme · 19/10/2008 16:30

Well, he knows and has acknowledged he was stupid to have slept with her and in public.

slayerette · 19/10/2008 16:32

I couldn't work out unquiet dad's point either, beanieb.

Maybe we're not allowed to have opinions on this subject
