A teenager apparently climbed a pylon.
We had a powercut, for sometime today and I wondered why.

Very sad

SuperBunny · 14/09/2008 23:36

Oh no, how awful

I saw that happen to a squirrel. Cannnot (and don't want to) imagine what it is like with a person.

here

wotulookinat · 15/09/2008 19:01

how awful for his family. Why on earth was he climbing it?

Notalone · 15/09/2008 19:16

No - not as far as I know. Sure it won't be too long though. His friends must be traumatised

Kimi · 15/09/2008 19:28

poor child and poor poor family...
what on earth were he and his friends doing, such a waste of life.

wotulookinat · 15/09/2008 20:01

the waste of a young life is what is so heart breaking, isn't it?

Hulababy · 15/09/2008 20:15

How sad His poor family.

TwoIfBySea · 15/09/2008 23:23

Remember the scary ads there used to be, one had the consequences of a boy going into a power station to retrieve a frisbee?

About time they started showing them again I think. Perhaps they terrified the life out of us but they sure as hell got the point across.

jimjamshaslefttheyurt · 15/09/2008 23:24

I saw this and it made my blood run cold. I could imagine ds1 doing this if he got out alone. He climbs everything. Poor family.

wotulookinat · 16/09/2008 07:38

I think you're right, Twoifbysea, they should bring those ads back.

mamadiva · 16/09/2008 07:56

Poor boy and his family and friends, my heat goes out to them today

But could I just say common sense tells you not to climb these things surely. I don't remember any ads before but we just knew not to do it. Didn't the fire brigade used to come in and talka bout things like this? Perhaps it's time they do we don't want another faily to suffer through something that could be so easily avoided

mummyhill · 16/09/2008 08:01

How terrible.

I remember the adds, maybe they should start running them again.

ClareVoiant · 16/09/2008 08:39

How awful
twoifbysea. I'm still terrified of pylons and train tracks after seeing those ads when i was small. I'm 38 now.

IMNthereforeIjudge · 16/09/2008 08:44

I saw it on local news too .

taipo · 16/09/2008 08:56

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 16/09/2008 09:34

How ghastly. His poor family.

I still think about those ads whenever I walk near a pylon, it really stuck in my mind.

Why did they stop showing them?
