Watched Hustle and Flow recently and he had a small role in that and was great. The man was ice cool, a genius and a legend that was truly worthy of the title. I really admired his passion,stoicism and commitment to his art.

This is a sad day for lovers of soul music.

Did think he was a bit of a hypocrite over the South Park thing, but still think he was a hugely talented man, and a great loss to the soul music scene

I was watching the story of Stax on BBC 4 the other week. The man invented bling!
