Sadly he has died at the age of 37

isn't it awful - I feel like crying for his wife and 2 tiny children..... just can not imagine what she is going thru now...

His columns are difficult to read as you always think of his young family. I hope his words will have the desired effect and encourage people to at least try and give up smoking.

Oh no! I wasn't a regular reader,but had heard about him.What a brave guy.He was so young too-a year older than me.His poor family must be devastated

I feel so sad, I read his diary online and felt I knew him as a friend. He was an inspiration in positivity and never gave up. His family must be so proud of him.

Will give my little ones an extra hug tonight.
