Laura still showed up to support Brand today. She doesn't have to. She could have just not attended today. So the fact she attended, with her father in tow, still shows solidarity and support.

She has probably been advised by his lawyer to turn up every day, whether she wants to or not, as it will bolster his case (family support, etc)

I know, but I wasn't talking about Laura.

I do feel some degree of sympathy for the Gallagher 's (nowhere near as much as I do for RBs victims, but some) because as a parent it must be terrible to watch your adult child choose to marry and have children with a complete scumbag and be powerless to stop it.

I bet Brand and his legal team have been desperate for Kirsty to turn up with them too.

Klippin · 02/11/2026 17:34

What’s everyone’s predictions for each charge ?

SpottyAlpaca · 02/11/2026 17:37

I would be very disappointed if the jury don’t convict Brand. But I’m very well well aware that the jurors may be asking themselves why a man who had women queuing up to throw themselves at him would need to rape anyone. Also, ‘beyond reasonable doubt’ is a very high hurdle to get over in he said / she said cases such as this.

Please don’t let us down, jurors… 🤞

Oh yeah, they'd love that! interesting she hasn't turned up at all.

Yeah deliberations start tomorrow. So unless they are in agreement about most of the charges, I expect it will run into next week.

How do posters on this thread know the jury's deliberations aren't starting until tomorrow?

A jury doesn't need to decide on all charges before they let the judge know in court. In the trial I was on the jury for, we decided on a number of the counts fairly quickly then continued to deliberate on those which were more difficult.

Judge sums up tomorrow and then jury will be sent out.

If he gets charged guilty for anything I feel like it would the rape case of woman 1 (the one where she thought he was gay).
I'm not sure he'll be guilty for the attempted sexual assault.
I have no idea about the others.

The judge hasn’t started his summing up yet. That’s tomorrow at 10am then they will go out.

Unless you have seen and heard all the evidence and read the judge's direction you can't know what you think the outcome should be. It's the cases which aren't clear cut that juries decide. Please understand this does not mean I am defending RB.

They said this on the podcast I've been listening to. They're in court each day and report back.

@Fast800goingforitbecause we are following contemporaneous reporting on the trial, which lets us know what’s happening next.

I think we can each have an opinion on what we think though, based only on the detailed summaries that we have read. Though not all testimony can be summarised to the extent it contained anything that might make the complainants identifiable etc.

Even those present in court each day won’t know what the outcome will be.

I already have the BBC ones on my phone but they're going to have me jumping like a flea when they go off from tomorrow until the verdicts are in.

Why do you think that as opposed to the others? Didn’t woman 5 have more evidence ?

BessieSurtees · 02/11/2026 18:03

It only takes two misogynists on that jury for the prosecution to fail. Or two people who have the same opinion as the many supporters RB has on social media. His vile opinions on women have been public for years but he is not on trial for that. I will be amazed if he gets found guilty. I’m hoping for the best (guilty) but expecting the worst, a not guilty and a whole load of spouting and vitriol from him claiming to be a victim.

KidsDoBetter · 02/11/2026 18:05

roobyred · 02/11/2026 18:00

You think? I highly doubt it. As mentioned upthread she is too canny to want to be involved (any more than she is already) and will have been advised against it by her management.

Between that and the judgment on the suicidal injunction case that is being handed down tomorrow at 2pm …

Entirely unrelated photo. Of Brand and a friend leaving the house in Gardnor Road in 2008 where he allegedly anally raped the 5th complainant.

They’re the main two I member tbh! I just remember feeling something about woman one’s testimony was pretty emotive. Perhaps it’s because she said she was inexperienced, and the way she said she felt she was to blame for inviting him to her room. I’m thinking from a jury being swayed perspective. But honestly, I hope they all get justice.

TofuTuesday · 02/11/2026 18:11

blankittyblank · 02/11/2026 13:23

I think woman 1 is the one I think he'll be found guilty of, if any. That was the one where she was really young and inexperienced, and thought he was gay. There was something quite compelling about her evidence (although I believe all the women).

I think the woman who alleges anal rape seems to have been compelling, with other evidence.
the one I’m not sure meets a bar for me in guilty is the attempted indecent assault.

Is she the one who had a threesome? I worry that the threesome element will make her seem less reliable (which is ridiculous. Just thinking about how a jury might see it)

TofuTuesday · 02/11/2026 18:19

@blankittyblank she is but I think wow how brave she’s literally agreed with everything she did but is sticking to that not being consensual despite having to reveal so much about her life/relationship etc.
