Omg that's grim. But I heard he was a clean freak. Would he really walk round with visible skidders on the exterior of his undies while interviewing a cleaner?

Yeah, well you can't believe everything you read can you? Not defending him at all. Just all sorts of crap gets written about people, pun not intended.

OldPyjamas · 18/10/2026 19:24

It could be a perversion

And then again, it might just not be true. I'm not defending him, if he's guilty he deserves everything he gets. But you just can't believe everything you read.

Do you usually go around defending people who’ve got to court as innocent - it’s seems it’s only crimes against women like this people defend

I didn't say he was innocent or that I thought he was innocent. I just said that it might not be true that he interviewed a cleaner with shit stains on his underpants and therefore it's reasonable to assume he has a shit perversion. Sheesh.

OldPyjamas · 18/10/2026 19:37

I also said if he's guilty he deserves everything he gets.

It seems an odd thing for someone to make up and sounds rather like him - wanting to shock and make people uneasy

Well that's obviously your take on the story. The big question is, can you send someone to prison for 10 years on the strength that your hunch is correct?

OldPyjamas · 18/10/2026 19:54

That'd be a yes or no.

With the caveat that I don't know if he's guilty or not. If he is, he deserves 10 years.

I don’t get to send anyone to prison

I can’t remember who said that whenever RB finished speaking, s/he would shout ‘Parklife’!

Sure it wasn’t pondlife?

It might be because I'm getting on in years but yes, people do make very odd things up for all sorts of reasons. I'm not saying this is made up. . I'm saying there is reasonable doubt and people are prone to exaggeration. I'm NOT saying I believe him to be innocent. I don't know if he is guilty or innocent. I just think that when anything blows up in this way there's a risk of confirmation bias.
"I met him 10 years ago and he was a bit pushy and saucy and he tried to pull me into the toilets" doesn't make him a rapist. It could also be said that he's a 6'3" strong bloke and could have easily have overpowered a small woman and forced her into the toilet if that was his aim. But that didn't happen. You can't convict someone on something that didn't happen.

As a young woman in the 70s I've had my fair share of having to extricate myself from dodgy situations. Fortunately the blokes involved knew where to draw the line and I remain unscathed. They eventually accepted it was a no from me

On the other hand, I could recount my uncomfortable experience as proof that these men went on to rape women. It isn't proof though, is it?

If RB raped these women in the way they say then he absolutely deserves to serve time for it. But at this point, we just don't know and I will keep an open mind.

Thankfully no. Let us let the jury decide on that from the facts. Not from a bit of juicy gossip about skidmarks on undies.

I don’t need to wait for the jury - that’s a legal process im not involved with as said

The odd troubled /deluded or evil
Woman may make false accusations it’s rare though. Surely no one can think that is the case here with numerous accounts none of which know each other. Very credible unless you are a misogynist.

Sounds like your waiting for the legal process

I’m not - I’m on a discussion forum of ordinary people where people share opinions

again @Pedant61 do you defend other people up in court so vehemently or is just VAWG?

I don’t know where you get the reasonable doubt from? Again that’s a court process term

Exactly - women coming forward that knew nothing about the others

Thisismetooaswell · 18/10/2026 20:58

thebrowncatisback · 18/10/2026 17:11

well the point is, they generally do not

And Brand probably won’t either. So no, I shall not wait for a jury to tell me whether or not I believe those women!!!!

Wow. Do you have sons?? I know 3 cases of a man being falsely accused. No way should any man, famous or not, be found guilty by virtue of being accused

Tinydanceer · 18/10/2026 21:01

I know far more women than 3 that have been sexually assaulted more than once. - in fact most women I know - sad but true

@Pedant61 don't worry about confirmation bias - the judge directs the jury on that count

Agree- watched it too and it was absolutely bonkers given the current circs

edit to add- after watching I’ve gone from liking her joy journal book and feeling a bit sorry for her, to thinking she is as deluded as him

Edited

I had previously had no knowledge of this , apparently it’s a weekly thing that nets RB a fortune via loads of subscribers?! There is allegedly a far easier target market for this barbed effort at born agsin Christianity in America, which fuelled the family move there (aside from his legal bother I assume?).
I had no knowledge of his wife other than her Father, but thought she appeared totally unhinged and detached from reality-to a very concerning degree.
I wonder what happens to their children if RB is convicted & sent to jail.
You would hope they are already under some form of social services checks there. I suspect if they were to move back to the UK, they would be subject to very thorough checks.
Baffling either of them think these videos are okay, mind-blowing when he appears so calm, so utterly bizarre.

It is very bizarre. What I find particularly odd is that when RB is talking he will suddenly veer into something completely mad (eg: talking about Noah’s ark with LB but then starts positing that perhaps it was all DNA samples instead of actual animals).

In these moments of madness LB will unwaveringly nod in agreement and say yes ‘of course’ and ‘mm so true’.

Theres something kind of weird going on there.

It came across as LB being tangibly scared of him, but equally scared of losing him and being forced into reality/admitting there’s a problem.
I agree the way she sort of “freeze frames “ every time he speaks directly to her is very telling, also desperately sad.
She looks so fragile yet so completely immersed in the craziness. Both of them came across as erratic and deeply deluded.

That’s a good way to describe it- freeze frames.

And then the contrast when she talks- he starts fidgeting, flipping through his bible and getting ready to move on. Looks visibly agitated.

I don’t think I understand your point about the toilet incident. No-one is saying he’s a rapist because he tried to pull a woman into the toilets. He’s not charged with rape on that count, and the jury will be carefully warned not to misuse the evidence on that in itself to convict him of rape on other counts.

He’s not even charged with attempted rape on that count, so I don’t really understand the point of saying ‘if he’d wanted to drag her into the toilets he could have done’. Are you saying this helps him to show he isn’t a rapist, because on this occasion he had the chance to do it and didn’t? If so, it’s a very twisted argument. You could point to a convicted rapist or indeed a convicted anything and point to plenty of occasions when they didn’t commit their crime of choice when they could have done. I mean even Levi Bellfield had days off. What’s your point?

GarlicEverything · 18/10/2026 23:48

@OldPyjamas, I've also had tussles like that. I'm sure it happens a lot.

The question is: what do you think would've happened if Brand hadn't given up? I've never had the impression that a bloke who was maniacally trying to drag me to an enclosed space was after a conversation, wanted me to fix his tie or even to share a line of coke.

I have taken care to avoid those men afterwards, and warned friends about them. Didn't you? This suggests we knew what their insistence implied.

The woman, who was working for MTV at the time, said she did not report the incident then because she was “scared” as Brand was famous “and a big asset” to the TV channel.

She said “It would have been my word against his, I had a job to consider, I emerged relatively unscathed. He didn’t manage to rape me. I managed to get myself out of the situation.”

He gave up because she resisted strongly and THEY WERE AT WORK. She evidently hadn't fallen under his 'spell', whatever it is, so he would have to forcibly rape her. There was a very high chance he'd be interrupted by her colleagues, at which point there'd be an independent witness and no escape.

mids2019 · 19/10/2026 05:43

What do people feel about men on the jury? In theory all people should be completely objective about a crime independent of gender and in a sense it does seem perfectly fair to have a mixed jury. However with sexual crimes is there any argument for all female juries of the victim was female. The argument would be only women would fully understand the gravity of the crimes as they could empathise with the experience more? Also would women be perfectly happy in a jury room talking about intimate sexual matters with men in an anonymous jury room? If a male juror was obviously misogynist could that be called out? I feel a woman might not feel comfortable as a juror talking about anal rape and forced deep throating with essentially unknown men in a jury room and would worry about some sort of skew in the judicial process.
