What a vile woman, how can you do that to your own child? She deserves a longer sentence!

skay · 27/06/2008 13:45

How horrible!!!

How some mothers can do this is beyond me!!!

omg!how awful.why would you do that?what on earth would run through your head?poor baby!its really quite upsetting.

WinkyWinkola · 27/06/2008 13:49

It's very sad.

The mother has a low IQ? Perhaps she isn't really capable. Will probably have more children though. Who knows what is best.

nappyaddict · 27/06/2008 14:43

I hope she is never allowed to look after him on her own again. That is terrible. I thought it was going to be something like she left him in bed for a few hours whilst she went to the pub which is bad enough but nothing as bad as the whole weekend. how could anyone think that was ok?

nappyaddict · 27/06/2008 14:47

"I would never ignore him. I would talk to him. He was a happy, smiling, contented boy." I think leaving him alone for 3 days would count as ignoring him. Bet he wasn't happy, smiling or contented when the police found him And how exactly was a friend looking after him if he was left on his own in a kitchen. 18 months is no where near enough!! I reckon she should get at least 10 years.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/06/2008 14:47

18 months?????

squilly · 27/06/2008 19:02

I'd like to see people like this sterilised. Some liberal types will say that's against her human rights, but what rights should she have? What rights did her son have, but they were totally ignored...

Leave her alone for 12 months and she'll have probably chucked out another poor little mite who will doubtless be treated just as well.

When there are women in the world desperate to conceive it just makes you sick. I hope the poor little boy has a better future ahead of him.

Piffle · 27/06/2008 20:39

The wee lad has since been adopted and has started school and is well.
the boy was failed by social services as well as he was on at risk register from 2mths old...
but they lost contact when he started at a nursery.
mother should be villified of course and rightly so...

hertsnessex · 27/06/2008 20:43

agree she should be sterilised. and i think contact with her child should only be with a suitable adult present - if at all.

theres some poor people out there that can't have children - it makes you sick.

why would she even think this was 'right'.

i hope she gets hell in jail.

glad to hear he is doing well now, poor little mite.

shinyshoes · 27/06/2008 20:47

hopefully he's too young to remember anything and can go on to lead a full and happy life with loving people that look on having children as a priveledge not a right

claraquitetirednow · 27/06/2008 20:51

Agree - sterilise her. And if he was at nursery how did they not know there was something wrong. Really sad. But he's since been adopted so hopefully he'll now have a good life.

Love2bake · 27/06/2008 21:07

I read about this case a while and it's just awful. You just can't imagine how any-one could do that.

She penned him into the kitchen as well, how stupid leaving him locked in the most dangerous room.

mashedbanana · 27/06/2008 22:19

poor little mite hope he goes on to have a happy and healthy life.hope she never has anymore children stupid cow .

rookiemater · 27/06/2008 22:44

It's just so sad, particularly if he was on the at risk register from 2 months old.

My SIL is fostering and she was telling me that children learn their ability to form attachments in the first 18mths of their lives, so if they don't receive proper love and attention, be that from parents, foster parents, grandparents or whoever, then they struggle to form attachments for the rest of their lives.

I don't want to say anything offensive here, but I do think we live in a society that is overly concerned about the rights of the parents versus those of the child. If the child was on the register from such an early age, there must have been warning signs, and whilst no one wants decent parents to lose their children, it just seems as if there are lots of poor children slipping through the gaps in our system.

missfib · 28/06/2008 00:01

i felt like crying for this poor little boy when i heard this on the news, what a nasty evil bitch that woman is more concered with her social life than her baby ???
