Grooming victim?

This news article describes a girl of 19 years who met her ‘boyfriend’ at 16 a Muslim 41 year old who killed her just after giving birth- a baby that wasn’t his.
the whole article reeks of her being victim of grooming gangs she was clearly abused yet the article keeps referring to her abuser as boyfriend! Surely with the latest enquiry and all the knowledge we have of grooming gangs this could have been pointed out!

When I have meetings about young people like this I refer to the male (its nearly always male) as the perpetrator/exploiter/abuser/groomer

BUT, the girl herself will have referred to this person as her boyfriend or girlfriend

I am directly opposing her view/identity of this person and her relationship

Its difficult.

He's her killer alright though.

Just read the linked BBC story. Lily was 'besotted' with the violent creep, yet pregnant by someone else. While angry about her pregnancy, he carried on seeing her. So, yes, it seems quite likely he was pimping her out to other men and she got pregnant by one of them, but there could be other explanations.

If he was, I do hope the police go after his collaborators.
