Why has this taken so long?!

I think that’s a fairly common timeframe to wait. My friend waited 14 months for her trial against her rapist to start.

It’s ridiculous though no?

It is ridiculous that it takes so long for criminal cases to come to trial these days. That is part of the government's justification for removing the right to jury trial for many offences. However, removing that right won't make any real difference, contrary to what the government say. The only solution is to spend more on the criminal justice system, something which all recent governments have been reluctant to do.

It took a year and a half, just over, for mine.

Actually to have sex with a woman then physically dominate her, 'flip her over', put her on all fours and penetrate her anally, while she screams and begs for him to stop, and then afterwards he says 'clean up the mess you've made' - of 'blood, semen and faeces' - how can we even find words to describe such a devil.
