I know, that made me laugh tbh.

Harrietsaunt · 19/02/2026 11:25

Let’s hope there’s actual action against him at last.

On his birthday!!

My second favourite part of the story 😁

It’s a start, but most want him arrested for other things…

Ryanairmess · 19/02/2026 13:57

At last! I wonder if this has been on the cards for a while and followed the move from Windsor.

I couldn’t possibly comment…

OldJohn · 19/02/2026 15:26

I was pleased at the headline but not at the reason for his arrest.
I think his alleged abuse of young girls is far more important and should be investigated rather than financial misdoings.

I think people matter more than money.

The problem is that most want him arrested for things where there simply isn't the evidence that he has committed a crime. For example, I note that another poster raises the common trope that he is a paedophile. However, there is no evidence to support this. It is true that Virginia Giuffre said she was underage when he had sex with her, but on her own evidence this was not true. She was relying on the law in Florida, where the age of consent is 18. However, none of the three alleged encounters took place there. All three of them were in jurisdictions where the age of consent was 16 at the relevant time. As she was 17, she was over the age of consent.

She did claim that he raped her, but her evidence on this was weak and partially contradicted by other Epstein victims, and she refused to co-operate with the authorities, so he was never going to be convicted of that.

Until the emergence of the Epstein files, there did not appear to be the evidence to charge him with anything. Now, there clearly is evidence. Whether it is enough to convict remains to be seen.

I am thinking of the cost of all this shit to us. .the taxpayers. Arrested so far for 'misconduct in public office' which was probably known by many.. still nothing re Epstein probably also known by many. What a crock. Then some inane journalist on bbc this morning asking if he would have been in hand cuffs! Bonkers

LaurieFairyCake · 19/02/2026 18:55

😂

Andrew arrested at last

It angers me he has been arrested for financial wrongdoing and not the abuse of women and girls - but of course the latter don’t matter.

Is a peado someone who does pea? Or do you mean paedo?

Heyhelga · 19/02/2026 19:35

I honestly think he might end up in the end of year high profile people we have lost this year compilation. I think he might take the easy route out. He must be under a lot of stress in at the moment.

Plus there’s the issue of where events took place.

Her 2021 lawsuit in New York was brought under the Child Victims Act, which allows people abused under age 18 to bring civil claims for sexual abuse that happened years earlier.

That law uses 18 as the threshold for a child, even though New York’s age of consent is 17. So the case didn’t depend on Florida law at all.

She did indeed bring her case under the Child Victims Act. However, she did not claim in that case that she was underage when Andrew had sex with her. Her claims of underage sex came earlier and were, as I say, based on the law in Florida, despite the fact that none of the alleged encounters took place in Florida.
