Trump is going to war with ‘narcoterrorists’ and he’s next stop is Mexico

Again I am torn as I think Trump is wildly out of control but at the same time Mexico is a VERY dangerous place off the back of narcotics and cartels. I’m pretty sure Haiti is run by the cartels now since they were decimated by hurricane Matthew. I’m watching with interest.

I’m guessing he thinks if he can make Mexico a place where people can live safely and earn money the problem with illegal aliens will ease?

Thinking about it some more he must be an absolute top target for assassination right now, musnt he? He is starting outright war with some of the most dangerous people in the world. The money and weapons available to these cartels are the equivalent of whole country’s worth of GDP and military grade guns/ammunition. Warring with communist countries is dangerous enough but this seems absolute suicide.

I agree re being a target. I pray he isn't assassinated, as that would cause so much more division and rioting, and he'd then be seen as a martyr etc.

I cannot bear seeing all the hell he's causing, steamrollering anything he doesn't like. It's lawless, yet he's not being held accountable.

And using this heavyhanded approach with Mexican drug gangs is bonkers.

You’re ‘torn’. About a deranged megalomaniac threatening to invade a democratic, sovereign nation?

There are not ‘sides’ here. There is just warmongering.

And ask everyone from Guatemala to Angola whether American intervention makes countries safer and more prosperous. And have a little google of how much ‘illegal aliens’ or undocumented people (for non-fascists) contribute to the American economy. If they all disappeared tomorrow, the US would be plunged into a recession the like of which they haven’t seen since the Great Depression. America runs on the labour (and they pay almost $100 BILLION in taxes) of undocumented people.

Oh and I was there recently. It’s beautiful and safe in most areas. And the people were lovely to us.

I'm in Mexico right now, it's delightful and this region is very safe. It also has a competent and democratically elected leader who Trump admits is trying to sort out the narcos. Totally different situation from Venezuela. Cuba is at much higher risk from Trump IMO.
