Ghastly event. Hopefully the investigation will explain how the fire came to burn so rapidly. So sad for the family, poor wee kids and mum. Apparently dad (who escaped) is a serving police officer.

That poor guy - apparently he made three or four attempts to get back inside the burning building to try to rescue them.

Horrendous. It’s hard to imagine how you can’t get out or get in to rescue someone in time, it shows how ferocious fire becomes. The most terrifying death with your children.

Dad's attempts to rescue them and being unable to is beyond heartbreaking. RIP his beautiful family.

This is just down the road from me and I cannot stop thinking about it and playing the scenario over in my head, the horror the poor dad went through that night, Christmas night and those little ones asleep, my heart breaks for them

I read a news article today that names them and shows their photos. I cannot imagine the unbearable pain that poor man must be in. How do you carry on with life when you've lost your spouse and children? Absolutely horrific.

Those poor victims. Just awful.

The couple were woken by the fire, which broke out on the ground floor, in the early hours of Boxing Day …

… Work will now take place to make the building safe to enable Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service to investigate the cause of the fire.

The fire service said its crews managed to stop the blaze spreading from the mid-terraced house into neighbouring homes but the damage to the house was extensive.

Hope they can get to the bottom of the cause and everyone re evaluates their fire exit strategy, my children and I regularly discuss how to get out if the stairs are blocked

Awful story, wherever you live of course. (I live in Glos)

Make sure your smoke alarms are working seems to be Rule #1.

A friend of mine was a friend of the mum’s and she sounds like an awesome person. How terribly tragic

I had a small house fire recently and I was amazed at how quiet spread, how I didn't ell the smoke or see it.

My smoke alarms made such a loud noise and even neighbours heard.
Their fire must have been awful and fast.y heart breaks for them all. I do hope they say the reason as we all need to take heed and learn.
