kitchen table lingo-new words wanted

heard someone talking about this on the Today prog this morning
The English Project is looking for new words
ie those that families or groups of friends come up with

they may even make it into the OED

have been racking my brains for words that were unique to my own family-only one I can come is "woofly" which I think my dad came up with, meaning that just-got-out-of -bed-and-not-brushed-your-hair-yet look.

anyone got some more....?

I heard this on Today too

and immediately thought of MN and 'fanjo'...

CatIsSleepy · 06/06/2008 08:44

so you'll be submitting fanjo on behalf of MN MrsB....?

Our family always called insects 'wiggers' - I didn't realise it wasn't a real word for years....

CatIsSleepy · 06/06/2008 09:23

porridge is always 'podge' in our house because of the way dd says it but am not sure if that sort of thing counts

has anyone put norks through?

Moosma · 06/06/2008 15:57

When your hair hasn't been washed for a while and it's starting to go flat with static-y ends it's 'stranky'.

CatIsSleepy · 06/06/2008 15:59

ah I don't think norks is strictly a MN term
