This is the most bizarre (and grim Envy) story - and so sad for his family if you read the earlier 2023 article linked at the bottom from when they believed it was actually sepsis:

There’s nowt as strange as folk Confused

The court heard Hopper had a "sexual interest in amputation".
Who knew men could get their kicks from such extreme surgery 🤨

AcquadiP · 04/09/2025 15:33

No words ....

It reminds me of the “you can’t consent to ABH case” https://www.bailii.org/uk/cases/UKHL/1993/19.html
Some people are really weird.

R v Brown [1993] UKHL 19 (11 March 1993)

So the guy gets a raging hard on and sexual satisfaction from watching or performing amputations (having carried out hundreds of amputationd in the course of his work) yet: "The charges do not relate to Mr Hopper's professional conduct and there has been no evidence to suggest any risk to patients."

Has anyone from the NHS Trust he worked for established that all of those hundreds of procedures were necessary or was he the one telling patients to come in and get a foot whipped off when it was just a verruca?

Very good point - it’s just a total train crash all round, but if I were one of his patients I would be really concerned for all of these reasons.

You couldn’t make it up.
So sad for his wife and family.

Ihateboris · 09/09/2025 17:22

Sadly, when it comes to men, nothing surprises me anyone.

Same.

Whereas if he'd had his penis chopped off he would be "stunning and brave".

KateBushAgain · 10/09/2025 13:04

It put me in mind of Crash the 1996 one , it’s a thing .

It’s a jaw droppingly bizarre and disturbing story and if he had been my surgeon I sure as hell would be questioning his professional decisions!

BigFatLiar · 17/09/2025 09:05

It's wierd but not unknown and surprisingly not just men. For some it's an extreme form of body modification. Tattoos, ear rings, nose rings for some it's not enough.

It surely is @BitOutOfPracticeAnd I too would be so worried if he had operated on me or my loved ones.

There are so many sick people out there. The endless variety of bizarre fetishes alone is mindboggling.

EstherGreenwood63 · 02/10/2025 12:42

Always a man. Sick fuck.

HouseOfGuineaPigsReturnsWhereSheLeftOff · 02/10/2025 18:15

Bizarre behaviour.

MidnightMeltdown · 02/10/2025 18:18

Why is it always men who have these weird fetishes? What on earth goes on in their brains?!
