He was definitely Marmite, but I loved him. I feel like I've lost a friend. I remember listening to him through the night when my Nana died. We were really close and I was devastated. Listening to his acerbic, sarcastic and always entertaining programme kept me going. He also had a very compassionate side too.More recently I've been following his podcasts. I can't listen to his final one yet. May he RIP.

I feel exactly the same the same. I’ve been listening to him for years. He didn’t suffer fools gladly, was witty, naughty, intelligent, and entertaining. He did a lot for charity, and I’m disappointed they didn’t devote more time to his passing on the news channels. His last podcast was very moving , and will make you cry, but do listen to it.

Thank you for this, it's mad but I needed to share it with someone. I will listen to it when I'm alone so I can have a good cry in peace.
