Another tragic story of a child dying at the hands of the family.

Ethan was just two when he died in the care of his grandparents. What on earth makes anyone, especially the family want to hurt a child?

The grandparents were found guilty yesterday of his murder. What a horrible family this child had the misfortune to be born into. The mother has a lot to answer for too.

I know the family are to blame but this happened in 2021. Although he was on the child services register, down to Covid restrictions social services couldn’t l always see Ethan. The family ignored telephone calls and didn’t answer the door.

Surely the safety of a child should have trumped Covid rules? How many other children died as a result of Covid restrictions and then not being monitored properly?

The cctv images of Ethan being dragged along by his grandfather have played on my mind.

Heartbreaking. When the grandparents were in court seeing/hearing the evidence, I wonder if they realise how monstrously they treated Ethan. Or do they justify it to themselves?

The weakest and most vulnerable in our society are failed time after time by those who should be protecting them. The need to safeguard vulnerable human life should 'trump' any restrictions. Yet another poor baby betrayed by 'the system'.

Yep exactly that. Surely even during Covid times , vulnerable children should have been looked after.
