This is so heartbreaking, he was only 28.

Not necessary to write this. We don’t know what speed he was going and even if he was speeding this is still awful.

Did you think commenting this "lesson"- blaming Diogo immediately after his death- is going to deter us Mumsnetters put a pause on our otherwise imminent purchases of Lamborghinis?

So horribly sad, he'd been married less than 2 weeks - his poor wife + kids. And his family losing him and his brother, just awful.

The main lesson you should learn is if you have nothing nice to say keep quiet. You don’t know the circumstances of the accident so don’t speculate.

So sad about his passing . My heart breaks for his very young children , wife and the family . To lose him and his brother at the same time .

@Sammie666 from what I see in reporting it was a burst tyre that caused the accident.

Some people just can't help themselves.

It's tragic news. His poor family.

Very very sad. So young and so talented. RIP.

His road is lethal in Spain. We saw 3 car accidents in a 2 mile distance when we drove on it. Thoughts are with his family.

So so sad for Dioga and his brothers families. What a loss for his country and Liverpool.

You seem to be implying that they were speeding and are responsible for their own deaths.
Their parents have lost two sons, a newly wed her husband and three children have lost their daddy.
A little human empathy wouldn't come amiss.

Life can be incredibly cruel.

Have some compassion. What a complete inappropriate thing to say. A tyre also burst and the car caught fire so jumping to conclusions when you don’t know makes you seem like a smug know it all without facts.

Not the first time Liverpool has experienced such awful jumping to conclusions.

my initial thought was its sad/tragic but thank fuck she married him... they have 3 kids and hes an international footballer so presumably she isnt working FT in an office or anything...

Depending on inlaw relations she could have been in a terrible financial position if it had happened 10 days before the wedding

Just because it's a fast car it doesn't mean they were speeding.

And even if they were, it doesn't mean they deserved what happened!

Tragic news. As a life long Liverpool supporter it really stings. His poor mother has lost her two sons and his three children their dad. He was only married 2 weeks ago, I feel for his wife.
