They've been married 24 years so she says she's used to it but ALL of them?

I saw that this morning, Wendy

Can't imagine how hard it must be

I saw this n the news this morning and felt for the poor lady! It must be so hard! Esp when she said that she wished her husband would just hurry up and go so that he could hurry up and come back!

i'm surprised at this, i had thought that the army tried to avoid sending whole families into theatre because of the carnage of the first world war and the loss of several men from the same family.

perhpas im wrong?

SSSandy2 · 09/05/2008 09:44

I would have thought so too JWN

(why do they call it theatre?)

jesuswhatnext · 09/05/2008 10:14

i think it is because action is almost 'stage-managed' iygwim.

southeastastra · 09/05/2008 12:38

My SIL has just seen her 18 year old son ship off to Iraq. He was at Uni in the states in joined the reserves. In November, my brother (her husband) will report for his third tour of duty in Iraq. I haven't read the story, but I have certainly had my heart strings pulled at the thought that my SIL has to watch her son and her husband go fight a war.
