Fucking hell..

Thats horrific. What is wrong with people in the world these days? Freezing babies, locking children up in cellars, fathering children by their children, stealing children.. beggars belief.

ButterflyMcQueen · 05/05/2008 21:30

that is what i mean

is there just a 'rush' on these stories making the headlines lately or is the world always like this

DirtySexyMummy · 05/05/2008 21:31

There does seem to have been a lot lately..

beansprout · 05/05/2008 21:32

What with those poor boys found in the car and Burma too the news is pretty hard to stomach atm.

DirtySexyMummy · 05/05/2008 21:35

Burma? Od do I not want to know..

Kevlarhead · 07/05/2008 00:30

"do these stories happen all the time"

Yeah (Burma aside). One story will make the news, the papers discover there's a 'market' for stories of horrifying child abuse/deaths at level crossings and suddenly there's one every week.

The thing is, with cases of babies' bodies kept for years, the general misogyny in the media likes to imply that Evil Mothers do this all the time when its more likely to have been a grief response and completely different to that awful austrian man.

Kathyis6incheshigh · 07/05/2008 08:43

Quite Madamez. I don't see any similarity between these two stories.

LIZS · 07/05/2008 08:49

I suspect they do, if not to that degree, but the UK media would n't necessarily routinely cover those in Europe and vice versa. Saves focussing on issues at home
