Sisters gone missing in Aberdeen

Their poor family. It's a very strange case but at least the police seem to be proactive in trying to find them.

I'm from the North East and was just thinking of them. From what has come out today, about their visiting the site 12 hours earlier and texting their landlady at 2am to say they wouldn't be back, it seems that they may have been planning to go into the water. It's terribly sad.

It's really strange and mysterious, so many questions

It’s so bizarre they’ve found them visiting the site before and those texts. Even if one had mental health problems..for both of them to seems unlikely.

There would be no reason to go along the path by the boat club in the middle of the night. It's not a short cut to anywhere. Mind you, the river isn't that deep there either.

Their poor family. Sounds like they were very close.

I hope they get closure.

I also think that sadly they have both, for some reason, entered the river. I know the area well, it's not a route you would take just to get from A to B.

It's so so sad, I'm surprised there hasn't been more discussion on here? Maybe I've just missed the thread but certainly not obvious. I keep thinking about the 3rd triplet and their brother, their parents. So awful 😞

It is very sad but after those awful, awful threads about Nicola Bulley I'd say it's not a subject I'm comfortable discussing on Mumsnet. I do feel for their family though.

Unfortunately Folie à deux is a (thankfully rare) thing. Hoping that's not the case and there's an innocent explanation and happy outcome here.

It’s very odd. In the last sighting of them, they are walking along purposefully in the middle of the night as if they are going somewhere. They don’t appear confused, upset or drunk so probably didn’t fall or have an accident of some kind. Awful for the family to be wondering what on earth has happened.

Such a shame, so sad for the family.

It’s such a sad news story but it does look to have been planned. I imagine they contacted other people aswell as their landlord if they intended to end their lives together.

Ive been following this news story too and also anxiously hoping they are found alive and well. Todays update though isnt positive. So awful for their family. I feel especially sad for their triplet brother.

This is the first I'd heard of this story but reading between the lines it does sound as if they made plans together to end their lives. Why else would they text the landlady then disappear? I hope the family is given some closure. So sad.

@Allthegoodhorses eeek you are right - apologies to the family if they happen to read this. Triplet sisters AND a brother. Most of the articles dont name the other sister so read as if the brother is part of the triplet.

I've also been following this closely but was worried about starting a thread. It's very sad, poor loves.

I wondered if money came into it and they could no longer afford to live there. I hope they’ve just done a moonlight flit and gone elsewhere but visiting the river is worrying.

Sorry if the thread upsets or offends anyone. I just think with missing people raising awareness is so important, despite what may seem to be obvious conclusions.

I might have missed something but I can't find any recent reports about these sisters. Have they been found? Is there any update?

No update. Sadly it is thought they entered the water but the police don't really know. They've been missing since Jan 7.

Yes. The area where they were last seen is near the river mouth and the harbour.

Hopefully it's solved soon for the family's sake.
