"poor poor victim woman"
🥴

Do the maths on this one. How old is she. How old are the babies. Why is her father there? If it all comes out that she wasn't a victim of her own father and eventually this man, and it was just "luck" that her father is fine with disappearing babies, I'll eat my hat.

I think the death penalty is a let off for people like this. Let them live and suffer for every second they have left, like that poor boy did.

Not if they still have rights and a cushy prison life with 3 square meals, exercise, studying opportunities, etc. They should be sent to countries where being dead is better than being in prison.

HettysHandbag · 09/01/2025 21:17

Normally posters are saying that American prisons are cruel and unusual, but now they're cushy.

HollyLollyMollyJolly · 09/01/2025 21:20

Interesting how the article focuses on the morher when the father was clearly the main perpetrator.

Probably because the man is dead. They only have to face the surviving monsters (regardless of some posters' excuses that the woman isn't one).

While there may be some mitigating factors, nothing can change the fact that she is a monster. Her personal history may help to explain her actions, but they cannot excuse them. She wasn’t a captive tied up in a basement. She had agency. We know that she at least had access to a phone. She could have used it to call for help. She chose not to.

We don’t know yet. Bars are often not necessary to keep an abused person captive.

myplace · 09/01/2025 21:56

We don’t yet know the full details. We know he texted her a photo of their baby which he had abused, and she wasn’t surprised by what she saw. She thought the baby might be tired/recovering from whatever he’d done.

We know she was pregnant to a 38 year old by the age of 19 and pretty much stayed pregnant until the boy was born. Two babies one right after the other.

We know her dad lived there and was fully aware of everything that went on.

I don’t think she is more culpable than those men that were twice her age.

HettysHandbag · 09/01/2025 22:12

If she is a victim of abuse herself it's also possible that there were other children we don't know about if she was underage when she had them. We might know about these two babies because at 19 she was legal and could go to a hospital without generating any suspicion from authorities. I really hope that's not the case, but I think something is really off with the fact that her father is involved.

I can almost guarantee that she was a victim and probably so was her partner.

But when does that become an excuse.

The majority of rapists, murderers and peadophiles have serious trauma that messes up their brains but unless she has an IQ of less than 3, she would still know right from wrong.

HettysHandbag · 09/01/2025 22:45

I would say it becomes an "excuse" when the the person is proven to have real agency in what's happened. If they find videos of her willfully taking part and enjoying abuse, yes. Definitely burn the witch. However if she's been under the direct control of her abuser (her father) and then "shared" 🤮 with this other man with no understanding of how to genuinely escape. I see her as a victim. Many victims of kidnappings and false imprisonment have been shown to have opportunities to escape. Even left alone with the ability to run away. I don't even know if you can call it Stockholm Syndrome when discussing the level of enmeshment a victim must have when her abuser is her father.

Why is abortion anything to do with it? Mental health and social care being stretched is the root issue.

And sadly some events are unpredictable no matter what we do. And I say all this as someone who refused to have kids as I grew up in extreme violence and didn't want to play roulette by having children myself.

Because without access to abortion or birth control who don’t want kids have them! And not surprisingly unwanted kids are far greater risk of abuse than wanted ones.

Mymanyellow · 10/01/2025 15:29

I grew up poor. No inside toilet or bathroom. No hot running water. My parents went without so me and my sister could eat. My mum and dad never raised a hand to us never not once. Stop making excuses for vermin.

And how do you predict these situations in regards to abortion?

This.

”they were poor”

“she was young, he was older”

”her IQ must be so very low”

As usual, a woman has a hand in the murder of a baby and it simply must be the man’s fault. He must’ve manipulated her. She was vulnerable. She’s just a victim too. 🙄
