police to crush nuiscence mini-bike

despite having nightly patrols from housing officiers, community police etc, we still have idiots tearing around on these nightly. they are surprisingly noisey for small bikes.

They've been doing it round here.

It's made a huge difference apparently.

I say apparently because it was never an issue where we live in the first place, but if it's fixed the problem for those that it was a problem for, then fab.

Flower3554 · 29/04/2008 14:50

We were promised a crackdown on these last summer, never happened

I'm dreading summer this year

NomDePlume · 29/04/2008 14:50

Don't the owners realise how stupid they look on them ?

Surely that alone should be enough for owners to bin them.

misdee · 29/04/2008 14:51

you;d think NDP. it seems to be older teens who think they are well 'ard.

Ooh now that sounds like a plan

unknownrebelbang · 29/04/2008 21:00

Bl**dy hell!

Someone thinks DH's colleagues have done something right for once!

Cheers Misdee, you've made me smile.

bossybritches · 01/05/2008 08:40

It's a bit "emperors new cothes" isn't it like many teenage trends.(fecking annoying for those affected by it) All it would take would be for a few groups of teenagers to laugh at the mini-bikers & the fad would die I'm sure, peer pressure & all that. We should plant a few big-bikers in strategic parts of the country!!

THAT is a bike

dizzydixies · 01/05/2008 08:47

the problem with the wee feckers is that they're so difficult to catch

police aren't allowed to par take in high speed chases through built up areas for obvious reasons (without an ongoing emergency) and the places that people use for riding on them are normally local to them and they know the 'get away' routes better iyswim

they mostly rely on valuble public info re who is actually on them and where they live etc and unfortunately some of these people are adults or grown ups who condone the usage of these stupid annoying bikes by their children

bossybritches brilliant idea with the old point and laugh tactic, quickest way to take away the power attached to something

dizzydixies · 01/05/2008 09:02

agree entirely that if they can get their hands on them that they should be taken away and disposed of though

they can sieze vehs without insurance now so why not these?

shoshe · 01/05/2008 09:12

Diz shall I send DH and his mates round

dizzydixies · 01/05/2008 09:13

rofl - could you see their faces if they all turned up

let me know where and when so I can watch

shoshe · 01/05/2008 09:16

might have to send them to DF as he has loads of probs with blardy mini bikes, and being a bit of a Victor Meldrew does yell at them (it worries me that they might have ago back, DF is 80 )

dizzydixies · 01/05/2008 09:17

poor DF, good on his for giving them a row for it though - I do love a fiesty old soul

shoshe · 01/05/2008 09:20

Until he embarress the hell out of you for telling 'Old Gals' in a loud voice that the centre of the aisle in Morrisons is NOT the place to stop and chat!

(The Old Gals were probably 20 yeasr younger than him )

dizzydixies · 01/05/2008 09:23

shoshe · 01/05/2008 09:25
