Far too much of this happening. People saying their dogs wouldn’t harm a fly and are as soft as a brush and wouldn’t hurt anyone. No, they won’t, until they do

honestasever · 02/11/2024 22:00

Yes. Sadly another one.

No-one believes their dog would do this, of course they don’t. They wouldn’t have them if they thought it would.
Then it does

There will be more and those owners are currently reassuring themselves. ‘not my dog’

SabreIsMyFave · 02/11/2024 22:01

Very sad news. What a terrible loss of life. Could have been avoided! Sad

I wonder what type of dog it is.

Yep. 95% chance it's some kind of bull terrier. That poor girl. 😢

allthewaythroughtheside · 03/11/2024 21:02

Well, there’s a shock.

Poor, poor girl.

“All indications so far suggest it was out-of-character, with the girl and dog having a close, loving relationship."‘

Stormyweatheroutthere · 03/11/2024 21:23

The story states it was a new pet... How when it's illegal to rehome an xl bully......?
Who would live in a caravan with any large breed ddog?
Will it take neglect charges to prevent such stupidity?
The only sensible thing that occurred was someone locked it on the car until the police came..
Pts as expected...

Michiamo · 03/11/2024 21:27

I’m not saying that the outcome wouldn’t be the same if the family lived in a huge house but why would you have such a massive dog if you lived in a caravan?

That poor young girl 😓

Namechangey23 · 05/11/2024 21:35

I'm angry as the law did not go far enough to prevent these idiots putting their stupid dog over their own child or other children and even adults lives.

I'm angry because these morons should be locked up. Then and only then will they stop making excuses for their dogs if there is a chance they will be put in jail. The dog had been neutered and just shows that made no difference, there is a genetic malfunction in this group of breeds, it's in their very DNA to snap and go crazy without warning.

Anyone owning these dogs now, muzzled or not it's like having a big neon flashing sign above your head saying "I'm a thicko'. These people are surely thick as mince. If they are trying to look hard it really doesn't come off, they just look moronic inbreds. Much like the dogs.

Poor child, she didn't deserve to die a terrible death.

Exactly.

The law has to change so that an assault by a dog is seen as an assault by the owner. If the dog kills, it's manslaughter. If it "only" causes injury, it's GBH, ABH or common assault depending on the seriousness of the injury.

Unless and until this happens, many owners will not take responsibility. Not even, it seems, with their own children.
