See I think a black man being nominated would be really progressive but there's a bit of me that thinks it would be even more progressive to have a woman camdidate. Still think Hillary has a better chance in the actual election.

I loathe Hillary, can't bear the thought of her making it to the White House. Obama much more (searching for word).... (not finding it...!).... subtle? Not so in your face? And what was all that "we will obliterate iran if push comes to shove" rhetoric yesterday all about?
She is smug.

orangina · 23/04/2008 10:20

also got depressed when i read this morning that 60% of women voters in penn voted for hillary. as though women can only vote for women, no brain to think beyond the gender etc. Bah.

AtheneNoctua · 23/04/2008 10:21

Most Republicans want her to win because they think McCain has a better chance of beating her than he does of beating Obama.

I, on the other hand, would rather secure the deal for obama than risk another president clinton. yikes!!! [scarred shitless emoticon]

Why is it Obama splitting up the party and not Hillary? What is her god given right to be the democratic candidate?

orangina · 23/04/2008 10:24

She has already proven herself to be untrustworthy. Completely agree about no more republicans....

I think I agree with KM - I don't think Obama can win it against McCain. They're both arses IMHO - Obama has spouted such a lot of made up nonsense.

Orangina it's not just brainless gender stuff: she is actually a feminist and has actually done quite a lot to improve women's lives...

Meant to say all politicians are arses IYSWIM - they can't help themselves. It's better the devil you know.

do you think she can get over that 'under sniper fire in Bosnia' story? that kind of changed my perception of her, before i was a supporter. I know it was just an exaggeration but wondered if it has damaged her beyond repair.

artichokes · 23/04/2008 10:35

Iwas behind Hillary until yesteday when she announced that she would "annhialate Iran" if it touched Israel. Annhialate Iran? FFS. What about its 65 million citizens. Way to go Hillary. Lets feed global terrorism.

She also stated that petorl in the US is way too expensive. Great. Lets make it cheaper to gain a few votes and then watch Florida submerge.

I thought she was better than these two gimmicks.

Yes but surely he just gets an experienced team on board who works the system for him (or am I hopelessly naive?!)

orangina · 23/04/2008 10:42

Augh, the iran thing. don't get me started on the very very special relationship that the US has with Israel (bangs head very hard)

MinkyBorage · 23/04/2008 10:49

He's no idiot, and he's surrounded himself with a team which is as credible and competent as hers.
Whoever gets in will probably be seen as a disaster because of the economic down turn. America will suffer badly.
It's Clinton who should back down now, not Obama!

CountessDracula · 23/04/2008 10:53

oh god
i am so bored of this now!

How much longer ffs
can't they just flip a coin?

AtheneNoctua · 23/04/2008 11:13

Hilary experienced? Surely you jest!

And I actually think that fresh blood is just what Washington needs.

Really, I'd rather see McCain as our next president. But I think that in view of the economy and some real cock ups by the Bush administration, we are looking at a Democrat in November.

Nope. I mean like enthusiastic and full of good ideas. And not like "right, now which things should I steal from the Whit House this time" And what crooks did my husband fail to pardon 8 years ago?

Talk of naive. I was expecting intelligent debate from you. I knew we wouldn't agree. But, really, you could have enough respect for the forum to contribute something intelligent.
