Blimey!

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 12:50

YEAH!!!!!! and he is only 19 the lad arrested. I'm also wondering that he must have lived with his parents, as the area of our village they have reported as being, is very lush big houses, big earners...

what a real shame, our youth being caught up in such atrocities. What a real shame

village in Bristols=?

flossish · 18/04/2008 12:51

our friend is on the crime scene, DP works in the err, not so nice area near you and knows absolutely nothing.

whomovedmychocolate · 18/04/2008 12:52

LOL well if I was going to be a terrorist I reckon a small village would be ideal. Lots of space to hide things, neighbours assume everyone is weird so don't question things.

Blu · 18/04/2008 12:53

I heard this on the news earlier.

Thank goodness they got him!

Mamazon · 18/04/2008 12:54

The july Bombers were arrested in the road behind me.
loads of police and media everywhere for days, then again when theyw ent to trial.

It was a nightmare.

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 12:55

oh yes beetroot - a dying breed, but we are still here! North Bristol.

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 12:59

flossish - yes the area I am in is very nice, but we border two bad estates. In fact this week, we just had our sheds broke into. Fortunatley it was kids, and only our wine got knicked.

I say ONLY - but heck, it was good stuff. We only ever buy GOOD stuff when its on the offer, like £10 -£15 bottles half price, then buy a case. And we bought cases from Laithwaites at Christmas, and one case of 12 still there, Wolfbass Presidents elect, and some other really nice white wines.

Ive heard from neighbours some kids were doing the rounds. They even knocked on one blokes door, asked to use the loo, the man accompanied him upstairs, then heard scuffling downstairs - there were 5 more lads in his kitchen ruffling around.

Oh I'm so pleased I moved from Bristol last August. I was living in Knowle (posh bit, dontcha know) but worryingly close to Knowle Westerrrrrrrrrrrz.
Sadly Wolfgirl's experiences are reminding me of all the stuff I used to see south of the river. Can't believe it's also happening in W-O-T.

SheikYerbouti · 18/04/2008 13:03
Shock
Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 13:10

TBH thequietone, I dont think it matters where you live anymore. Who the heck knows what really goes on next door, or two doors up, or three flats down. We are in a dangerous world

When I see lone houses, derelect maybe, in the countryside, I wonder who might be squatting or occupying them, doing who knows what. Then I push the thoughts away and get on with my lovely day out.

We cant live in fear eh! but, when its right on your doorstep, it makes you shudder. Not sure how in-depth I want to know about this incident. I struggle having a good nights sleep as it is LOL (LO's I mean)

eternalstudent · 18/04/2008 13:11

I heard the news this morning but didn't hear the area, when they said it was w-o-t I was surprised - was expecting it to be easton! (Which is where I live)

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 13:14

You know what, I dont think area's matter any more. YOu get your bad apples everywhere. Mostly, people are really good people, salt of the earth even. Then you get folk that don't care who they upset, who they are rude to, who they cheat on or fraud....

and you get that, even in W-O-T! Not me though

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 13:15

...just putting LO's down for a nap. Heck, might join em!

belgo · 18/04/2008 13:35

here

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 13:54

I dont think then, from that BBC report, that it was ACTUALLY in W-O-T, but close by. Comb Paddock Ive not heard of, Ive heard of Combe Dingle close by to me. Very strange.... and I cant work anthing out from the picture where the police man is standing either.

Im sure more will be reveled as time goes by. thanks for the link

is about 3 streets away from us - dh heard the explosion as he came to bed tonight....am in shock!

tortoiseSHELL · 18/04/2008 21:24

I think he was living in a one bedroom council owned flat, not a 'big house!'

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 22:15

ah tortoisSHELL, we must be neighbours! - Im not too far from the Texaco garage with the new somerfield.

OP posts:
tortoiseSHELL · 18/04/2008 22:17

We're the other side - Henleaze side.

Wolfgirl · 18/04/2008 22:24

ah Henleaze. I lived in a massive house in Henleaze Road. It was, most probably, the best care free years of my life. Fabulous time.

You can come round for coffee sometime, if you like
