Banksy

Third artwork in three days.

I like his stuff. He's brilliant at promoting himself.

But part of me feels annoyed that he gets away with things that other artists/painters/people are not allowed to do.

I'm an artist. And I'm pretty sure I would get in trouble if I started painting on someone's wall without their permission!

What are your thoughts? Is he just a glorified graffiti artist?

He seems to do quite cool stuff but I don't get the big deal with it all.

Google 'cardinal burns banksy' - this is my favourite take on him.

I loathe his sixth form style derivative output.

I think the comedy Nathan Barley sums it up. Don't get the appeal. Interesting stuff, but I'm more into work that has been painstaking and taken a lot of time and effort to produce. I admire that more, but maybe I am just not getting it.
