I don't watch Strictly but hasn't it been mired in bullying complaints? Didn't that woman from Countdown say she had PTSD from it? It seems like the BBC as usual, are throwing women under the bus for ratings.

prawncocktailcrispss · 13/07/2024 16:07

Zara did not report - came from BBC recordings apparently.

What on earth is going on, what are these men doing?

MeAgainAndAgain · 13/07/2024 16:15

I just read this! What’s happened? He spoke about it like it was all in the open already?

Chewbecca · 13/07/2024 16:16

He always irritated me because I always felt he was 'showing off' when he danced, instead of 'showing his partner off' as some pros do. Didn't expect misconduct though. Glad the producers are being firm and clear that poor behaviour is unacceptable.

Whitewolf2 · 13/07/2024 20:59

I’m really shocked at the latest headlines, apparently he verbally and physically abused Zara, he hit and kicked her?! How was this not picked up earlier, people must have seen this in filming/footage and ignored his behaviour thinking it would ruin the programmes reputation, really disgusting.

Yes that surprised me, especially as people seem to think Zara had no problem with him at all. I don’t really understand it all.

cupcaske123 · 13/07/2024 21:44

Apparently Zara didn't complain but BBC bosses were shown footage of him hitting, spitting at and kicking her. There were multiple physical and verbal incidents. I wonder why she didn't say anything.

Pigeonqueen · 13/07/2024 21:48

I was surprised to read this because when Zara was paired with him her Instagram was literally full of her gushing over how amazing he was and how she was so lucky to have met him and to have someone as nice as him in her life 😳 Stockholm syndrome?! Who knows.

RookieMa · 13/07/2024 21:48

It's obvious why she didn't say anything

She didn't want to ruin any chance of a career

She's not an A lister with any sort of power or say

I'm really really pleased for her though that someone saw and said something

Amanda Abingdon has been through utter shit after her allegations

FairviewRosie24 · 13/07/2024 21:53

But at least the gorgeous Aliasjzc is back 😍😍😍

RookieMa · 13/07/2024 21:53

No doubt she was gushing and putting on a positive spin on Instagram to the appalling way she must have been treated

People do that to keep their jobs in the face of adversity

Women do that, they tend to suck it up despite being treated like shit

Weinstein, Epstein, Saville etc etc etc victims of DV

They say nothing because people don't always believe you or do anything about it

Things are changing but only a little bit

Me too has helped a bit in schools anyway

Our daughters are a bit safer and the old adage of boys will be boys doesn't cut it anymore with most people

Not really the time or the place when talking about the abuse of women my dear

cocolocosmoko · 14/07/2024 05:15

This is horrendous. But I really don't like the way it's being used to minimise what happened to the others. There are, what is it now, 5 that have come forward to say Giovanni was a bully/abusive and one has reported full-blown trauma from it with others describing symptoms that sound like trauma? The idea that it was just minor bad behaviour is questionable even if Graziano was actually violent. Abuse is abuse and while some abusive behaviours are seen as less serious than others they can all do horrendous damage. Curious to find out if Graziano treated all his partners like this or if it was just Zara. Poor woman.

Charlize43 · 15/07/2024 20:14

I'm really disgusted that the money I'm forced to give to the BBC is being used in this way - to pay someone to abuse women.

Not so long ago my money was used to buy sex pics from a vulnerable young 'person' and in the past has been used to sexually abuse children.

None of these things I agree with.

When are we going to get a referendum on abolishing the BBC TV Licence?

You only have to read the comments from the horrible people on Tattle to see why she didn't report. Constant victim shaming - 'yes but she made him a cake'. I understand that it was a junior production person who reported - good for them. Poor Zara.

Keenovay · 18/07/2024 20:13

I raised an eyebrow at his non-apology, where he says "my intense passion and determination to win might have affected my training regime". It's like admitting you are a perfectionist when asked what your greatest weakness is.

None of the female pros seem to have to terrorise male partners to get results. The worst the papers have managed to come up with is "Nancy Xu using resistance bands to help stretch partner Rhys Stephenson's arms into a good hold", causing him to grimace. Poor dear.

prawncocktailcrispss · 22/07/2024 14:36

Ola Jordan has been mentioned this morning - in respect of her partner Steve Backshall - but I am sure this has been mentioned and put to bed years ago

  • they are professional dancers - and I know that they would have been taught by strict teachers to achieve the standards they aspire to.

Maybe they ought to restrict the traing to so many hours a day for everyone and take the intensity out of it all

lazyarse123 · 29/07/2024 15:50

Apparently they've decided to have chaperones. What bollocks if you can't make people behave like normal humans beings either sack them or cancel the show. I may be biased as I hate "reality" shows. I hate bullying even more.

CowboyJoanna · 29/07/2024 20:06

I thought Strictly was all a steaming hot pile of crap from day one. Can it
