Yes, it is an awful story. I don't really believe she can possibly be happy. And what is the paper doing publishing that lurid picture? I'm not sure I'd quite go along with blaming the father exclusively - lots of people fall out with their parents and don't go down a showily self-destructive path. Unless of course there's a sexual abuse side to this, which is a very different matter from merely being a pushy parent.

The article does mention her father having been jailed for sexually abusing two fifteen-year-old girls, which makes the possibility seem all too likely .
