is donating a weeks salary to the SEAsia appeal and wants all other Premiership footballers to do the same. Some clubs are making a donation and hope that others follow suit

It's such a drop in the ocean for them (but still a wonderful gesture), but a weeks wages for a Prem footballer will make soooooooooo much difference to the fundraising efforts. Well done Dwight !

I would guess at the average weekly wage for a Prem player is around £25k.

I intensely disliked Dwight Yorke until about 30 seconds ago. Now I think he is my fave player in the premier league. God on him, lets hope some of the other multimillionaires follow suit.

Bearing in mind Man Utd is the biggest 'business' football club, Alex Ferguson is only giving £100,000 frim the whole club!!! I know it all helps - was just a little surprised considering he wouldn't think twice on spending 20million for a player!!
Good on Dwight and the rest of the footballers/clubs giving donations.
