Anyone live or work in Tower Hamlets?

I work in a reasonably senior position for a business that has a lot of dealings with LBTH, none of this is a surprise to us, there have been some very odd goings-on, including senior appointments, but the mayor remains very popular in the community and (as with Trump?) this is likely to strengthen that.

Meantime, it's becoming harder and harder to do any actual work or achieve anything in The Borough. Whist it's encouraging that someone's noticed and action is being taken, I imagine there'll be considerable upheaval. How do you expect this to impact you?

Honestly? I'm not surprised. I was absolutely furious that my fellow residents elected such a known crook. And I fully expect it to end in tears. I hope that 'Aspire' are not planning to field an MP candidate.

As a resident I don't see the deterioration yet in frontline services. I think the density of the borough and the sheer number of young people means that we have a lot more amenities than other places.

However some bad decision making has been pretty obvious, eg to rip up existing LTNs that had cost millions was particularly galling.

It's very expensive and unequal here now, with massive wealth and grinding poverty. There are food banks at many schools. A lot of friends have moved out in the WFH revolution and I expect to do so soon enough.

I'm not at all surprised either, but I am a bit worried that it will basically block everything were trying to do for the people of TH, although the mayor's been doing that fairly successfully anyway.
