But I think our generation will. I just can't see me moving into a beige mode. Will be wearing jeans and converse shoes in the sheltered housing.

Hell yes!

You will segue into wearing beige whether you like it or not.
It comes to all of us.
I found myself looking quite seriously at M&S separates today.

TheDullWitch · 20/03/2008 20:17

But i looked totally washed out in beige. I don t think it s going to change. And there is no excuse for beige shoes.

MIL has just got back from a trip to Cambodia.

Earlier in the year she went skiing.

2 years ago she went walking in Nepal and she's been to see the orangutans in Borneo.

She arrived yesterday bringing wine and gin.

My sort of woman.

I'm going to grow old like her

Now you're being depressing. You have to imagine that you will be a wild old bint otherwise you'd give up now.

moondog · 20/03/2008 20:18

You're right.
Beige shoes are an abomination.

There is no way that I will ever ever ever wear beige.

EVER!

Cool MB.
Sounds like my parents.
They travel the world, whizz around in a flash sporty Merc, drink shitloads of wine and generally do what the hell they want.

(Last bit a bit irriating on occasion)

Blandmum · 20/03/2008 20:20

she wears Birkinstocks and used to wear clothkits cod, you'd despair

unknownrebelbang · 20/03/2008 20:20

Am generally with cod though.

It's ok being adventurous (like MB's MIL) but bad behaviour is bad behaviour, whatever the agegroup.

My MIL, nearly 70, still skies. And yesterday she took my ds to a climbing wall! And she climbed up to top. She is also tons better at yoga than me - really bendy.
