Just read online that he commit suicide. What ever he may or may not have done, it is very tragic. Although I never met him personally, I was a fan of his books and films. Also, he did quite a bit for neurodiversity awareness and charities.

Celebrity gangster-turned-actor Dave Courtney is dead aged 64

Courtney, one of Britain's best-known gangster, made a name for himself through his affiliation with famous London East End hardmen such as identical twin criminals the Kays and Roy Shaw.

seriously he was a thug and many horrible things

Everyone is in uproar on the local FB group because people keep posting about it and everyone should have more respect apparently than to discuss it publicly. It’s all over the news so I’m not sure why people are getting so angry about people posting publicly.

He used to drink occasionally in a pub I used to frequent for a while in South London. He was a complete thug, and not a man to cross. We used to leave when he would come in as the atmosphere would get rather scary, but plenty of idiots thought he was a great guy.

I live relatively close to his home. He was very well known in the area, chatted to everyone, made time for lots of charity work and looked after his own.

He had calmed down massively from his younger days, I’m not sure all the stories from that period of time weren’t embellished or sensationalised.

Regardless of all of that, a 64 year old saw no way out but to place a pillow over his face and shoot himself. His pain is over, his families has just begun.

I'm not really that 'up' on gangster type people, I guess often it's something you fall into for whatever reason.
Saying that, my dad was friends with John Binden, who was quite renowned 40-50 years ago and my dad was very fond of him, not scared, he'd come to our house sometimes, and he wouldn't have done that if he didn't trust him

Remember him being a minder on Jerry Sadowitz show

A few south east London small business owners that DC seemed to have a link to (all in the building trade) were called to Camelot a few years and made to donate building materials to him to get him back on his feet. He'd hit hard times.

My friends son met him through work. He did the music for one of his films and said he was a nice guy. I guess its just one persons view of him and he may have changed.
