I have to use the M20 between junction 13 and 10 daily for work (i work at the William Harvey Hospital), and its been a bloody nightmare getting home I got caught in it for over 2 hours going home the other day, as the damn police won't ever put signs up at junction 10 to say its going on, so i feel your pain harman

We're affected too Harman - our village is just off the A20 S of Ashford. Dd has had an exchange student from France and we had to deliver them to the bus really early today to go home. I'm so sick of the knock on traffic. Really feel for the businesses affected.

If it's been going on for over a week, why on earth do the lorries keep coming - surely they should stop in lorry parks back from the coast until the strike is over - it will take days and days just to clear the backlog, they won't get there any quicker by being there? The police should get them all moving and send them away until it is - this is mad

Huge sympathy to you in Kent, I think I would explode with frustration.

There are loads of Portaloos that have sprung up coastbound from junction 11, so they seem to be in it for the long-haul.

I actually live mid-way between Canterbury and Dover, so i at least have the option of going down the A28, but it takes quite a bit longer, and only works if i know Operation Stack is going on before i get on the motorway!

fio, love, you have got to come out of this worrying permanent state of denial about living in Margate

Hubby has to go the M20 way every day and it took him nearly 2 hours to get to work last week. Normally it is 35-40 minutes. He has had to find different routes to get there.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 09/03/2008 16:30

I heard on the news it had been cleared today.

We're just off the A20 S of Ashford. Getting around the town is bad enough with roadworks at the moment. I think it'll soon be back to chaos in the morning. Dd had a French exchange student last week so I had to take them to school every day - 200 miles on the clock and driving from J10 to J9 every day twice. The traffic's just so unpredictable.

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 10/03/2008 07:47

M20 clear this morning.
